United States Access Board

Advancing accessibility awareness and outreach across digital and physical spaces.

The United States Access Board (Access Board) is the only federal agency dedicated to accessibility in digital and physical spaces. Anthology Communications provided the Access Board with strategic communications services to raise awareness about its mission and to inform and educate stakeholders about the availability of important tools, information, expertise, and research within the Access Board.

Anthology conducted desktop research around the brand, messaging, and website and social media performance, and developed a strategic communications and implementation plan that included messaging, material development, branding and graphics, video and more. In developing the plan, Anthology prioritized effectiveness and continuity – ensuring that the Access Board team could continue building upon the plan past the life of Anthology’s contract. As always, Anthology worked to ensure our client could succeed in their continued communications and outreach efforts.

We created new materials, targeted at a variety of audiences, including other government agencies, local governments, and corporate digital experts. Material included infographics, fact sheets, one pagers, talking points and brochures. We also drafted content that made the business case for accessibility in both digital and physical environments. This material allows the Access Board to continue to reach out to their audiences with compelling content about accessibility and share their valuable tools and resources with others.

Our design work included creating a new brand and look for the Access Board. An important element in Anthology’s design work was to produce templates that the Access Board could update and add new content to easily, providing our client with the tools they need to continue their communications efforts. We created new templates for both digital and printed materials, including social media graphics, document templates, conference banners and more.

Finally, Anthology completed three videos for the Access Board, to provide them useable and informative content that tells their story in a compelling, timely manner. These videos incorporated all current accessibility best practices, including captioning, in-frame ASL translation, and descriptive audio. These videos provided key foundational content to introduce key audiences to the Access Board and their work.
